The concept of artificial intelligence creating art is both daunting and intriguing—on one hand there is a slight threat to all kinds of artists, but there is also a new level of possibilities being given to them at the same time. It has been a topic of conversation ever since an art piece created by AI won an art competition in September of 2022. I think all of AI needs to be taken into consideration when debating whether or not it is really useful. Popular AI engines like ChatGPT has stirred a lot of controversy among academic institutions for all the honor code violations it has caused.
However, there are also a lot of smaller uses for AI that ultimately are huge time-savers. I find it difficult to be okay with one use but not others, but I really do think there is a certain line that has the potential to be crossed with its use. It is also hard to keep its use within those specific bounds, especially because of how easily accessible AI has become. Experimenting with it more in a creative way has been very enjoyable so far, and I'm excited to continue to experiment with AI with that purpose, but I definitely find it intimidating sometimes. It will get some taking use to for sure, also as softwares grow and develop I know there will be more changes, but it will be interesting to see how AI continues to intertwine with everyday life.
