This project has been really fun to work on so far—mainly because I didn't realize how many ways there are to break an image to create a glitch effect. I think the overall aesthetic of glitched images is really funky and allows for a lot of variation in a design or image. In one of my art foundations classes for our final projects there was a student that created an installation with a video of data-moshed images they had created. I remember thinking that I had no idea how they were able to make it and how captivating the video was. The message of the project was also highlighted even further because of the data-moshing process and what it means to break something and then turn it into something else. It really helped make the project successful and definitely peaked my interest.
I am excited to explore not only AI image generation in a more in-depth way but to see how far I can push images in terms of manipulation. I am really excited to learn the process of data-moshing and see how my style can fit in with the results. There are endless possibilities when it comes to glitching and altering images both from the inside and out, and that is what really makes me want to dive in for this project. Everyone will have such different results and the methods can vary so greatly too, which I think will make it a really successful project.
